Brel is Belgian but point taken, how about Magma? Not quite my taste admittedly....
Edit: Oops sorry Bill I got carried away - we should try to keep this on topic, i.e. not about French music Last edited by SJP : 05/20/08 at 05:21 PM. |

Magma… Quite noisy, the ancestors of Tecno "music". In fact, I recently rediscovered some early McCartney records (RAM, etc.) I listened to when I was 10, and I'm astounded by the richness and the "englishness" of its harmonic genius. Truly amazing. To young to have known London in the 60-ies, but you can feel the mood. I should say the same for Neil Young, C,SN&Y, Jefferson Airplane, etc. After all these years, the richness of this music (culture and politics message apart) still marvels me. There really is a musical genius here without equal anywhere else. A profound and shaking mirror of the times, like Shakespeare. PS : Sorry, Bill, for hijacking a bit this thread. Victor et al,
this is coming along fine. Lots of work at the moment, as I gather confirmations, image id's, and releases. I am also waiting for the changes to be complete. I believe that each of us will order the book directly from Blurb. I am still working out how to put number on the page and how long the appendix will be. Cost will be about US$44 (paper) to $57 (hardcover) range. We have approx. 150 pages of pix (both sides) and some text. Feel free to go to the blurb.com site and see what involved. Shipping for 1 hardcover book is around US$10 to US destinations; about $20 to Italy, for example. Regards,

Will be sending you the full resolution files at some point? The reason I ask, I will be on and off on travel in the next month, and want to make sure I get you clean copies. So far I guess there are only the small 200k jpgs.
Or have I missed some post that describes what to do? regards Victor

I am wrapping up the details at this point. That means
1. I am sending each of you an email (probably a pm from here) asking you to ___a. confirm that you wish to participate in the project, and ___b. identifying your images. 2. I am also sending emails to obtain releases. I have sent emails to 90 of the 105 of you, already. The last 15 will get an email today or tomorrow. I a couple of weeks, I will REMOVE participants from the project if I have not received the confirmations and releases (as required). PLEASE check your emails. If you have ANY questions, email me at wparsons@gis.net. Don't pm me, because I can't keep enough free room here at the moment. Thanks to all for the beautiful, imaginative images, for the cheerful collaboration, and the joy of participating with you in this project. Regards,

Hi!!
I am an "old" Leica M user but I am quite new in this forum and I own my new M8 from some days ago only. I am wondering if still I can be part in this Anniversary Book! If yes, where can I put my images? Thank you for your attention Alfonso |

Bill,
I have a number of small capacity SD cards so I would prefer to mail my hi-res images to you on an appropriately labelled one of those, which you can then bin or do as you please with, rather than sending you a CD. Would this be acceptable to you? Pete.
