Yep, maybe they could patent it.
The problem is which one? The M6 or M8's one? They're so much different, and I hope they won't patent the "wrong" one....

Can Leica or you(thanks to your previous disassembly of camera) Place some kind of sound proofing material(or tape kind all around interier of camera) to block off those noise?

I hate loose some spec of camera to 1/4000 and 1/180 flash sync. =DOWNGRADE!

I have an idea! USE technology like bose silent headphone has. Every time shutter emit some noise it produce -(minus) noise so we don`t hear. Is that possible ???
