handgun Posted November 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I purchased my M8 S/H in June 2012 from Red Dot, very clean and I love it. I was on the Leica Camera AG web site, and registered the M8 and my M2 then saw a tab for benefits for members. Wow I can have two IR/UV filters for Free!! This was last week 31 Oct 2014 Imagine my surprise when to-day UPS delivered a package with two filters ! This is good service for a 8 year old camera. bender73 Posted November 7, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2014 I tried but it won't let me register the used M8 I just purchased. I have the serial number and it will not allow me to enter it.

bender73 Posted November 7, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 7, 2014 Email Leica Customer Support. I just did. Do they clear the serial#? Do I need to submit proof?
DigitalHeMan Posted November 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 7, 2014 I tried but it won't let me register the used M8 I just purchased. I have the serial number and it will not allow me to enter it. Could be that the camera is still registered to the previous owner. Leica CS can fix this. Btw, I think you would only be able to claim the UV/IR filters if they haven't already been claimed by the first owner.

Dave:) I have mine registered that I purchased in June, but I don't see anything under the Benefits hyperlink. Here is what it says: Benefits Your special offers at a glance As a registered Leica customer you will profit from special benefits again and again. Special offers, new services, limited series – here you will always find the offers available to you. It’s always worth having a look. These are our special offers for you at the moment:"
handgun Posted November 11, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) I believe that my M8 was never registered by the original owner. So the UV/IR filters were never claimed. I have seen another post on this forum, of another claim for filters this year Please help on M8 serial num confusion~ see this thread Edited November 11, 2014 by handgun
phatning Posted November 14, 2014 Share #9 Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks for the headsup! Same story here. The original owner never registered the camera. I was able to register my M8 and claimed the 2 free filters. Very impressed with Leica's service and commitment to a product that was discontinued in 2008/2009.
