gmpphotography Posted October 1, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The sensor in my M8 is in definite need of cleaning. Any recommendations for a cleaning kit that I can use myself?

Loren Posted October 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2014 Giotto rocket blower followed by Eyelead Sensor Gel Stick. I agree. The first line of defense should always be the Rocket Blower. That should work in the majority of cases. Then I use an Arctic Butterfly brush to get anything that sticks due to static charge that the blower does not. Finally, a wet clean may be in order, but once the wet clean is correctly done, a Rocket Blower is about all you should need. I think I use the Visible Dust system with Eclipse fluid on my cameras, but there are other systems that work equally well. Lastly, I tend to change my lenses with the camera pointing down to minimize dust intrusion. I try to stage my lens changes to minimize the time the camera is without a lens attached. mike_j Posted October 3, 2014 Share #5 Posted October 3, 2014 I have a Delkin kit with Eclipse liquid, swabs, a mini vacuum cleaner and a magnifier/inspection unit but only because it was a Chrissy present. In practice a good blower sorts a lot of the problems and swabs and eclipse liquid does the rest.
Guest Posted October 6, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 6, 2014 Giotto rocket blower followed by Eyelead Sensor Gel Stick. After using the "Rocket Blower", which blows only air into the camera body, I screw on my vacuum cleaner first the "Micro Vacuum Attachment Kit", which soft brush has exactly the correct width for the camera sensor.
