Soundproofing the shutter

In a thread on Luigi's cases, it is pointed at that the case goes a long way to muffle the sound of the M8 shutter click and re-cock noises. Has anyone found any other viable methods, sound deadening materials, etc.?

I would be interested to know if anyone has recorded with and without samples of the M8 with any kind of case, whether Leica, Leicatime, or whatever.

Probably great for film sets, but a little impractical for daily rangefinder use.
