Default M lenses in London/UK

I know there's a shortage of M lenses but is it really this bad?

I've been trying to find a Elmarit f 2.8 28mm for about 3 months now and no-one seems to either have any stock or know when stock may be available.

Any suggestions?

They are in big demand and short supply. What that turns in to is lack of stock anywhere. Ordering and waiting appears to be the only option in the UK.

You could get a 28/f2.8 ZM Biogon instead. Traditionally this has been the Biogon's best focal length and it does not have the problem of being squeezed up to f2 like the 35mm one. In the very unlikely event of my wanting this focal length, I would be hard pressed to choose between the f2.8 Biogon and the f2 Summicron, not of course, taking price into account. Now that I seem to be able to hand code first time every time, there does not seem to be much downside to non-Leica lenses. The upside of Zeiss is that quality control seems close to perfect.
