Default CV 15mm on M8

Hi,

Thinking about picking up a CV 12mm or 15mm for my M8, just wondering if any one has any images taken with their M8 and these lenses?

Thanks

There are hundreds of examples on this forum. If you click on the 'search' link at the top, and search for "CV15" or "C/V15" you should find plenty.

I think for the money, this is one of the best lenses for the M fit cameras.

Go get the CV 15. You won't regret it. Just spent a few days in Mexico with the CV15, 75 Heliar, Asph Elmarit 28mm and the 50 Cron and had definitely most fun with the little gem (15CV). The two lenses I used most were the CV 15 and the 50 Cron.

Love that pic Bradley!

P.S. This has to be the first time I have seen the words 'small' and 'noctilux' in the same sentence. LOL.

Both fabulous lenses BTW.

The CV 15 is an incredible buy for an M8, IMO. I'm only sorry I haven't taken anything worthwhile to post. Soon, soon...

And just think, there are many CV lenses that perform as well as, or better than, the CV 15. The 15 is very much in fashion right now but the other CV lenses may be discovered more widely as time goes on.

Cheers,

Sean

I'm with Sean on this. The 15 I play around with, for fun. I also use the 21, 25 and 75. The 75 didn't see much use on the M6, but is fast becoming a favourite on the M8. I love the 25 and as it soon will be available with RF coupling and in an M mount, that is looking like a very interesting proposition.

As I've said before, I can afford to buy the CV lenses to 'play' with a focal length and see if it is for me. Couldn't do that with Leica glass, not even 2nd hand.

And here's a vote for both the 28mm f1.9 Ultron and the 50mm f1.5 Nocton - both excellent lenses which work well with the M8. Frankly, I don't know how Cosina-Voigtlander do it at the price, given the relatively low volume of production. I suspect that the MD (a known rangefinder enthusiast) picks up much of the R&D privately.

The following are from the 28mm (top) and 15mm (bottom) both in very mixed lighting (fluorescent, mercury vapour, daylight and possibly some tungsten) without coding or IR filtration. Both at ISO 640. Developed in Lightroom.

Hi,

I love the lense too :-)

by the way, has anyone created a profile for Lightroom to automatically correct vigneting and... cyan corners?

Thanks,

Eric

Here's yet another. Uncoded, unfiltered, uncorrected...

Frage Re: CV 15mm on M8

CV 15 is simply superb.
Can anyone point me to where I can get an adaptor which would enable M8 coding, please.

Personally I find the FOV too wide for my taste (too much foreground and/or too many converging verticals) but there is no denying that the CV 15 is a sweet little lens which works very well on the M8 (the lack of vignetting shows just what a fine job the Leica engineers did in this respect). Great fun. Every bag should have one.
