haha...I would, but unfortunately getting a data connection during a football game is impossible. 80,000+ fans on a single cell tower makes for one overloaded network.

I'm sorry, my point and shoot is a D-Lux4 which I would hardly consider a "regular P&S". I hope that you would have something comparable, if you shoot an M8. The best pictures of the stands/fans are taken from the field level looking up of the painted faces, signs, banners and the espressions during the game. But you know, bring whatever you feel comfortable with and have fun!

I was joking earlier...I dont really plan on shooting much during the game, mostly before the game starts outside the stadium. Unless the X1 miraculously ships in the next few days the M8 is my P&S.

I'm guessing this excludes the 800/6.3?

Seriously, bring something wide for use much as one would shoot street, except for most of the time it will be shooting "stands."

That's the best advice. The only way to get good shots with a 24 is to be in the corner of the endzone when someone is coming down with a touchdown pass right in front of you. And that can be very dangerous. Been there.

I guess I wasnt clear, I have no interest in shooting action on the field. I want to capture the experience of being there. I think the 24mm will do the trick.

I've found that some security people consider my M8 and 24mm Lux to be a professional camera.

I've never had problems with my black M6 and a small lens, like the 35mm Cron.

WOW...I hope not as I'll have no place to put the camera.

I should have been clear - I haven't taken the M8 and 24 Lux to any concerts or games. One concert said no cameras with removable or long lenses - I took my Canon P&S. My two incidents where when security (I won't name where) obviously thought I was a pro - You must admit that the M8 and 24 Lux looks "professional", especially with the rectangular hood. But, my M8 is chrome, which may attract more attention than my black chrome M6.

Capture great memories with the 24mm and let your son shoot a few also. The memories from the photos will last a long time. Have fun!!
