Advertisement Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Hi bideford, Take a look here Oh dear..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
NB23 Posted February 11, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 11, 2015 If only I knew what you are talking about. But since you say paterson, i can only guess it's a plastic thing and i do not recommend those at all, ever. Go stainless steal, like a real Leicaman. bideford Posted February 11, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted February 11, 2015 Thanks NB23 but the old plastic Paterson has served well over the years...... Doc - will certainly post - finally got here via an M2 and and M6TTL. Although I'm happy to manually meter (either in my head or with an external/internal meter) AE mode is just too nice to have in some circumstances! bideford Posted February 11, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted February 11, 2015 Forgot to mention all seems well with the negatives so far....... Looks like I got away with it. Live and learn. James
pico Posted February 11, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 11, 2015 Are you sure it is not the adhesive strip from the film spool?

Is that the old screw-top tank with the L-section round seal that fits in the lid? If so, presumably you were not agitating with inversions! PS - congrats on the M7
bideford Posted February 11, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted February 11, 2015 Is that the old screw-top tank with the L-section round seal that fits in the lid? If so, presumably you were not agitating with inversions! PS - congrats on the M7 That's the one. I did notice a tad more of a leak than normal on inverting but nothing that made me think anything amiss at the time. Clearly the seal is more of a liquid seal than one that allows light in - the screw thread obviously helps there. Original post was more out of initial frustration than anything - I guess I was hoping someone would say all would be ok! James

James That`s good to know James I`m always worried about forgetting that seal myself.
Timmyjoe Posted February 18, 2015 Share #10 Posted February 18, 2015 Thanks for the warm memory. Used one of those Patterson tanks for years until I busted it in the early 1990's. I think that tank is the nicest one Patterson ever made. Have one of their newer ones and don't like it nearly as well.
Paulus Posted February 19, 2015 Share #11 Posted February 19, 2015 If only I knew what you are talking about. But since you say paterson, i can only guess it's a plastic thing and i do not recommend those at all, ever. Go stainless steal, like a real Leicaman. I'm using JOBO for over 20 years now. Plastic without a problem. I'm not a real Leica man: The Leica Man
giordano Posted February 21, 2015 Share #12 Posted February 21, 2015 You're not the only one to have done this. The white ring is meant to keep the liquid in the tank during inversion and doesn't affect the light-tightness. (If it did, it wouldn't be white, would it?)
