chilihead Posted November 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got my M3 back from Don Goldberg - one word - WOW. In my hands I now hold a better than new M3. But, more than that, coming from that same object, I feel the result of many many years of skill, a top notch dedicated craftsman at work, an artist knowing his trade and tools so well that they become invisible! Let us tell these people how much we appreciate their labours, how much we appreciate them. Sherri, Don, Gus - these three have all done SUPERB work for me. And you? C'mon everyone, let's let our "Doctors" know...

kivis Posted November 11, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 11, 2014 Youxin Ye does it for me. Simply the best and quick, too. In the Boston area.
NikonJeff Posted November 11, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 11, 2014 I've had the pleasure of having Don CLA m7 1973 50 Summilux v2 and 1937 50 Summar and the results were above my expectations. Youxin Ye just did a complete teardown/CLA on my new to me 1956 M3 DS and it's smooth as butter… These craftsmen (and women) are a rare breed and I'm very happy that they are still working their magic! jaapv Posted November 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Will van Manen would be rather scandalised if I told him I love him, Cathy maybe slighly less but I sure appreciate their craftsmanship. And wine whilst waiting Edited November 11, 2014 by jaapv

bocaburger Posted November 11, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Youxin Ye does it for me. Simply the best and quick, too. In the Boston area. I've heard good things about his work, fees and turnaround time. If I ever need service on my M4's (doubtful that I'll even use them again though) I would be inclined to give him a try. My latest experiences in those regards with other US-based indies was not as good as it had been in times past. And if I said I loved my repair person it would be rather narcissistic, as I've done most of it myself. Most recently doing a full rangefinder adjustment on my M9 that came from the factory in poor calibration, and machining the lens head of my 135 T-E to focus perfectly on the M9 after it was returned to me by a well-known repair person in the same misfocusing condition I sent it...8 months earlier...along with a bill Edited November 11, 2014 by bocaburger

lauleica Posted November 16, 2014 Share #10 Posted November 16, 2014 I have only experienced the expert craftmanship from Don Goldberg for my M3/MP for several times. He really has the magic hands on the camera repair, no matter in aesthetic aspect or the internal mechanism. His promise/ability is always over my expectation. Stunning JOB!!:)
aesop Posted November 20, 2014 Share #11 Posted November 20, 2014 ...I'm also a huge fan of these fine individuals. Hope they have some sort of apprenticeship thing going on - it would be a real shame if all that knowledge and expertise moved on with them.
