I’ve been shooting with the ZM 35/1.4 over the last few days and it is a fantastic lens.

Some thoughts (and previous posts) summarized below into ->

CHAPTER 1:

Unboxing The lens, what the lens looks like on the Leica M9, Leica Monochrom and Leica M240 (size and bulk) as well as images comparing the size of the ZM 35/1.4 vs Leica 35/1.4 ASPH and Leica 35/1.4 ASPH-FLE.

CHAPTER 2:

Sample images shot on the Leica M9, Leica MM and Leica M240 with thoughts accompanying the images.

CHAPTER 3:

Samples showing the rendering difference between the ZM35/1.4 vs Leica 35/1.4 ASPH and Leica 35/1.4 ASPH-FLE. (All shot on the M240)

Can't help finding those blurry backgrounds disturbing. The human eye doesn't see things like this (unless one is ill/drunk etc). These two work for me, the right hand one just about. One wonders how the Biogon 35 2.8 compares in resolution with the 1.4 Distagon stopped down to say f4–5.6.
