Dear all, I've just found a good deal on a Zeiss Biogon 25/2.8. I've got a Leica CL and a M3. The M3 is no problem, but I'm wondering if it's possible to use this lens on the CL. This way I have 2 body setup, longer focal range with the m3 (50 and 90), wide angle with the CL (in CV 15, summaron 40 and perhaps 25). Will the Zeiss lens fit and not damage the lightmeter in the CL? Otherwise it'll just go on the M3..

It should be no problem, the meter arm is at the rear of the body near the shutter curtain. The only lenses not recommended for the CL were the collapsible ones and with those it was recommended to place a 1/2" Dymo tape around the barrel to restrict the collapsed depth to an acceptable amount.

There are other non recommended lenses actually, those whose rear mount protrudes too far into the camera body, such as Elmarit 28/2.8 below S.N. 2314921 and Super-Angulon 21/3.4 and 21/4. Question is to know if the Biogon 25/2.8 protrudes less than the latter lenses. I have no experience with this Biogon so i cannot answer to this question.
