Joakim Posted December 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Yesterday I updated the firmware in my M9 to the latest 1.202 version to have support for my new 75mm Summitar. While the M9 now recognize the lens correctly as 75/2.5 all I get in my exif data is that it is a 75 mm focal length, there is nothing in the lens model filed as for all my other Leica lenses. Anyone has any experience with the other 2.4 Summitar models and the new firmware? I know, not the most important issue but I am still a little bummed about this
Advertisement Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Hi Joakim, Take a look here Summitar lens info missing in new firmware?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bjornthun Posted December 19, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2014 Which other lens(es) is that are no longer recognized? Btw. I think you mean "Summarit" and not "Summitar".
01af Posted December 19, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2014 If you don't know what lens you're having then how's your software supposed to know it?
Joakim Posted December 20, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted December 20, 2014 Which other lens(es) is that are no longer recognized? Btw. I think you mean "Summarit" and not "Summitar". Thanks, yes of course. I only upgraded the firmware the other day and since this is my new lens I have'nt used any other lens after the upgrade. I suspect this is only an issue with the new Summarit (I almost wrote Summitar again ) line.
wda Posted December 20, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 20, 2014 Have you set the menu correctly to recognise coded lenses?
Joakim Posted December 21, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted December 21, 2014 The camera is set correctly so that is not the problem. I guess I'll have to wait until more of the new lenses gets into circulation.
Echo63 Posted December 22, 2014 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wonder if it has to do with there being two versions of the Summarits, the older f2.5 and the new f2.4 - to avoid confusion the new firmware just shows the focal length
