Ecar Posted September 16, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 16, 2014 Link from Voightlander website 15 mm / F 4,5 Super Wide Heliar 2014 Interesting. Although the description says "Aspherical super-wide lens with color shift", which makes me wonder...
mirekti Posted September 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2014 Interesting. Although the description says "Aspherical super-wide lens with color shift", which makes me wonder... LoL ...maybe it was supposed to be without, similar to zoom Zeiss 35mm on B&H site. German version also claims the same: Asphärisches Superweitwinkelobjektiv mit Color Shift :-)
luigi bertolotti Posted September 16, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 16, 2014 LoL ...maybe it was supposed to be without, similar to zoom Zeiss 35mm on B&H site. German version also claims the same: Asphärisches Superweitwinkelobjektiv mit Color Shift :-) Maybe a shift of the color of the front lens towards its external diameter.... mirekti Posted September 16, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 16, 2014 It can be read on RF forum that 15mm has been updated for digital. This gives some hope. I didn't have any purchase plans for Photokina, but seeing this changed my mind. I can't wait to see how it performs.
CheshireCat Posted September 17, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 17, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) LoL ...maybe it was supposed to be without, similar to zoom Zeiss 35mm on B&H site. German version also claims the same: Asphärisches Superweitwinkelobjektiv mit Color Shift :-) By the lens length data it seems a retrofocus lens. It would not make sense to design a lens with "color shift" on digital sensors in 2014.
rramesh Posted September 17, 2014 Share #8 Posted September 17, 2014 I am optimistic. Lately Voigtlander (Cosina) seems to be doing all the right things to bring more good quality affordable lenses to market. Just see the recent 21 f/1.8 and the 50 f/1.5. If they can introduce a 15 f/4.5 overcoming the limitations of digital sensors, they will have a winner on their hands. I am also intrigued by the 35 f/1.7 though I wonder if it will have finder blockage issues.
veraikon Posted September 17, 2014 Share #9 Posted September 17, 2014 At PK at the Voigtländer both (H 02.1 D021-D023) you can try the lens. Unfortuatelly I hadn´t a Leica with me when I visited the both. May be someone could try it an post it.
indergaard Posted September 17, 2014 Share #10 Posted September 17, 2014 My local dealer told me they expected to have the new 15mm in stock in November or December. I just got the current 15mm a week ago. It's being returned for a full refund.

May be the Ultron 35 f1.7 too (as also the new Ultron 1.8 21mm) It seems to be a new construction! 35 mm F 1,7 Ultron
mirekti Posted September 17, 2014 Share #13 Posted September 17, 2014 Here are some photos of the new CV15mm Voigtlander 15mm, 35mm, 40mm Lenses Announced At Photokina 2014 It seems it's a bit longer and wider than the last model, but not too much difference though. I'd really like to see some samples in use.

If this thing works without Cornerfix or flat field complication I am buying, Voightlander 15mm external metal viewfinder looks nice and real bargain compared to any Leica VF.
jaques Posted September 18, 2014 Share #15 Posted September 18, 2014 I am pretty interested in the 40mm pancake lens as well. I like the look of it- and used to have a truly superb Konica 40mm pancake lens. Does anyone know of any more info about this new lens? What is the 'V-ME close focus adjustment' ring for? VM-E is a helicoid adapter for Sony E-Mount cameras. As the Heliar 2,8/40 has M-Mount but no focussing funktion you need the helicoid for fokussing on Sony EVIL cameras. Maybe you can use it on other systems with helicoid adapter too. But not on M-Mount directly...
wizard Posted September 18, 2014 Share #17 Posted September 18, 2014 Interesting. Although the description says "Aspherical super-wide lens with color shift", which makes me wonder... Well, that's probably meant to say "with just the right internal color shift to eliminate apparent color shift" .

They seem to be capable of doing it with their 12mm, so I'd be reasonably optimistic that a new version of the 15 ought to be a good straightforward performer, otherwise they probably wouldn't bother. Archiver Posted September 18, 2014 Share #19 Posted September 18, 2014 A couple of years ago, I picked up a screwmount 35/1.7 Ultron and loved the way it rendered and handled. Unfortunately, it had about 1.5cm of back focus and couldn't be adjusted for my M9, so back to the shop it went. Since then, I've longed for a new M-mount version, and I'm so glad they have done it.
