Black metal lens cap for 50mm ver IV Summicron without hood?

I'm looking for a Leica lens cap for the ver. IV 50mm Summicron without the hood (I use a UV filter but would also like a cap).

 

I was thinking of something similar to the cap for the new 50mm AA. What are my options?

You mean the 50/2 v4 with focus tab i guess (black 11819 or silver 11825).

The clip-on lens cap # 14038 will certainly fit.

Same for the push-on lens cap # 14285 most probably but i would have to check out to be sure.

Beware that the 14038 will protrude though as it is larger than the barrel of your lens.

It will fit fine but won't look as nice as on the 50/2 asph or the current 50/2 non asph due to the built-in hood of the latters.

I realize that you asked about a metal cap sorry. I don't have the 14285 with me here so i'm not sure if it's made of metal or plastic. Its predecessor 14122 is in metal alloy but i would have to ckeck out to be sure if it fits the 50/2 v4 as it should since it was made for Ø 39mm lenses like the latter.

The current push-on lens cap for the 90mm Macro-Elmar-M lens looks the same as the 14122 and might do the job fine.

Just confirming that the following front lens caps fit perfectly the Summicron-M 50/2 v4 # 11819:

- push-on chrome metal cap # 14031

- clip-on black plastic cap # 14038

- push-on black plastic cap # 14268

- push-on black metal cap # 14285

FWIW I ordered some of the suggested caps. I have to tell that only one cap suits the Summicron 50/2 v4 best.

The Push-on Black Metal Cap # 14285 is easy to attach and looks best imo.

The Clip-on Black Plastic Cap # 14038 is too large, but it fits

 

 

The Push-On Black Plastic Cap # 14033 doesn't fit at all. It is too large and just falls off.

The 14033 (OROBI) is not listed above. It is not a lens cap but a hood cap made for 12585 (metal) or 12538 (plastic) vented hoods. Both fit perfectly on the 50/2 v4 BTW.

The "JFOTO Qb-C" E39 push-on hood is very nice and looks almost indiscernable from the original 14285. Fits perfectly my 50/2 v4 and other E39 M lenses.
