When they are ready?
I for one am happy to wait. There are more important things in life. Regards, Bill

Nick,
Leica and their advertisers made their choice yesterday and are negotiating with the photographers. When everything is through I'll inform all of you which image made it! Best regards from Bonn Andreas

Kind regards, Jeno Quote: Our topics today: The winner images for the M brochure Leica says "Thank you"! Winner Images Leica and their advertising agency have now chosen four images that will be used in the M brochure. Congratulations to the photographers! Without any further comment - here they are: jannes rolph gobits Susan_NYC dpattinson As soon as the brochure is ready for printing we'll publish it here als PDF document and inform you via this newsletter. Leica Says "Thank You"! Last week I was at Leica in Solms and talked to the Leica marketing people - amongst others about your contributions to the M campaign. The Leica guys were flabbergasted by the number and the outstanding quality of the images. It was very difficult for them to decide which images to take - now they are thinking about for what other purposes they can use the photographs. I'll keep you informed... A big "Thank You" to all contributors from Leica and congratulations to the photographers of the winner images! Best regards from Bonn Andreas Jürgensen |

Yes, there is a new pocket-sized M8 brochure, blending Leica quality with a tongue-in-cheek stab at other camera systems. The light-handed, informative approach should do well in today's market. Not quite "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" standoff, but in the same fun vein...lest we take ourselves too seriously.
The photos are used to demonstrate Leica speed and silence. Nicely done.

Jim,
It went live late Friday afternoon. I'll wait for Andreas to make the formal announcement without giving it away. Your image looks very nice by the way. Cheers, |

One of mine has been chosen. I'm grateful for all I have learned in the LUF and from browsing the galleries. I was very impressed with all the submissions and humbled that they picked mine. Here's the story. It had been a perishingly cold Easter holiday in Scotland this Easter, with the shampoo freezing in the cottage bathroom. The mountains were covered with snow. Then the sun came out and there was a perfect day for this beautiful picture (Summicron-M ASPH 28, Leica polariser, f/4 I think) of Arkle, a mountain in the North West Highlands. The water was very still, just before the dog jumped in!
