Default A bit of a problem

The email from Andreas says that the images should be of print quality. Yet when I try to upload a large image I'm told it's too big.

What do I do?

OK, I guess what's meant is that the full sized image should be of print quality and the uploads to the gallery are just for the initial selection.

Steve,
I was puzzled as well initially, but went ahead regardless assuming, like you, that it was purely for elimination purposes.

For now the maximum downloadable image size is 500KB. I successfully downloaded two images less than 500KB last night after first receiving a warning that my 600KB image was too large. I would think that Leica wants to browse through small images first for the selection process then ask for larger images once the selections have been made.

But where to post your images?
In the general photo forum?

Default AW: A bit of a problem

Sorry for not being precise enough:

Indeed the images you upload are only previews.
They only have to be availbale in print quality if Leica wants to use them.

Please upload your images in the gallery (not the photo forum):
Leica User Forum - PhotoPlog - Zugriff verweigert

Is there a maximum number of pictures one can upload? I have more but get a message saying my quota is exceeded. Also - like a fool - I uploaded some in the wrong category! Can I move them? Cheers, P.

Send me a PM with a link to the image and where to move it!

3 images per category and user are allowed.

Best regards from Bonn
Andreas

how do you delete images you submit. I had a cut and paste error and uploaded the wrong image. It is the bowling image under calm, titled cheers.

I am also getting the maximum uploads exceeded message. Are we allowed three images in total or three per category?

Robert

When you download an image there is a small box on the upper right of it, check that box and click the delete icon and the image will go away.

I must say I am rather dissappointed with the display quality of the uploaded images. I uploaded a number and was horrified by the, IMHO, extreme loss of definition to the point where I am embarrassed by the display of my images. I used the normal Forum upload criteria for file sizes and I have never seen such poor repro. Am I doing something wrong (entirely possible!) or are other posters having similar experiences?

Are you clicking on the image to see the full sized version?

Thanks Andreas - I've figured out how to move them myself now. (As my old IT guru used to say to me - RTFM!)

However, I can't seem to get my quota of 3 pics per category, still getting the "File Uploads Exceeded" error.

Cheers, P.

I have just checked the couple of shots I loaded there.

I had to click on the image (or the red title on the first pop-up) four times for the image to get to its correct size.

Worth persevering

Thanks Andy, you are right. Clearly, I am technically challenged!

Gradually we find these things out!

Thanks for the opportunity, Andreas! Some of these clarifications should have been in initial email!

And you're getting us used to uploading, so as to sell more subscriptions... <g>

After uploading some images, I noticed that the colours were more muted after uploading. Has anyone else noticed this? These are images exported from Lightroom into sRGB, and I am viewing in Safari on a Mac, so this should not be happening. Weird.
