I typically use CS3, but as a last step for finalizing my image before converting to sRGB (in other words, final resizing and sharpening is done), I open up Hue/Saturation and boost only the Saturation slider somewhere between 8-12 as i have found the conversion tends to desaturate the image.

It happens if you use "assign profile" instead of "convert to profile"
conversion options at the bottom (I forgot the labels for the moment) should be activated. Then there should be no saturation shift.
