Nice Feature on V-Lux 114 That is Overlooked

I like to use a remote (wired) release for some of my photography. Although it is not spelled out clearly on the DVD instruction manual, there is a remote socket on the camera body that accepts the Lumix DMW-RSL1 release. The connection socket is shown on page 16 as item number 43

Having already used this release on a V-Lux 4 I tried it on the new V-Lux 114 and it works flawlessly.

I take it you've discovered that with the 114 you can easily do manual focus, unlike the V Lux 4, and it has both the enlarged center section and focus peaking.

Love the 114.

Stuart,

I've not tried the manual focus yet. I'll have to give it a try. Like you I'm really enjoying this camera. I was satisfied with the V-Lux 4 (fine camera) but the new 114 is even better for my usage.

I just got the new 114 last week, after giving me old V-Lux-4 away. The vastly improved mage quaility of the 114 with the new, larger sensor, improved color fidelity and rendition, improved lens and easily accessible and user-friendly manual focus arrangement make it a delight to use. So far, most of the shots with the 114 have been in the manual focusing mode with enlarged center and peaking feature……….very nice !

Very happy I made the switch,

Thank you, Stuart

800mm without image loss ?

haven't gotten that far yet in trying out all the new features and getting comfortable using them all, but focal lengths betwen the lens's nominal 400mm max and 800mm certainly would come in handy for some shots at the race track.

Thanks again,

JZG
