V-lux-1 LCD, EVF flash flicker when shutter pressed

Hi, just picked up my first Leica. A V-lux1. The person I bought it from told me it was mint and in perfect working condition. I notice when outdoors in bright areas, when I press the shutter button half way to focus, I see a very fast flicker of white on the LCD or the Electronic viewfinder. Doesn't appear to happen indoors in normal room lighting. Is this a common problem? I hope I didn't buy a broken camera. Everything else works perfectly on the camera and it get very good sharp images....

Just a guess. If it is very bright perhaps it is a bit too bright for the electronics. Try closing the aperture a bit in similarly bright daylight and see if ti still happens.

Hi, I put it on A priority, took it down to F11, still does a very quick flicker of what looks like a white display when I push the shutter button half way. Almost like a 30fps video with a couple of blank white frames. Very quick, but noticeable.

I now know it has nothing to do with pressing the shutter button half way. When I point the camera at different locations with different brightness, the aperture automatically keeps adjusting so the viewfinder has a proper viewing brightness. You can actually hear the aperture opening and closing as you pan the camera around. When the aperture makes its adjustment the screen flickers with the very brief white screen flash. Doesn't seem to affect the picture taking process though.
