Actually,
Bob is correct - the '69' stamping does indeed belong to a Leica service somwhere in the world. I do distinctly remember that '69' was among the assigned codes and my feeble brain seems to recall it belonged to some US or Canadian repair station. I could be wrong though...... Once upon a time, I found a listing of assigned stampings but for the life of me can't remember where. The stylized 'L' of course stood for Leitz in Wetzlar, 'C' was from the Canadian Leica agents during the 1960's and 70's - Walter A. Carveth. Best, Jan |
