Default unknown model (well, unknown to ME)

Hi everyone.

I would like to ask you if you can help me?
I got this camera, and I have no idea what it is!?
Does anyone know in which year it was manufactured? Or whats the correct name of this model?
And how do I know if it is still working??

Sorry for my stupid questions, but I am not an expert in this field..

Thanks alot for your help in advance!! :-)

Hi, looks like a Leica I from 1931 converted to Leica II specs.

Yes, but it is converted towards the end of the thirties. On earlier Leica II's, "DRP" (Deutsches Reichs Patent) appears in the bottom line of the logo.
It could have been a Leica I with a removable lens.
