Default On and Off markings on baseplate

Anyone know when and with what model did the Auf and Zu markings were replaced bilingual english/german ones? I think it must have been at 400,000, the first post war IIIc's. but not sure.

Can't find any reference, but my 1938 LIII has the German text only, so you could be right. Whether those earmarked for export had a different baseplate is another possibility. I bet someone out there knows.

Distinct possibility - my camera was sold originally from a shop in NYC.
