Hello all
I am currently working on putting together a WWII US war correspondant impression. My goal is to be able to take pictures and footage using original 30ties technics and material. I already have the 16mm film camera and I am now seaching for a usable Leica III (a). Now my question...does anybody know how long Leicas were sold in the US after WWII started in 1939. I know that Kodak Color film was still imported to Germany in the spring of 41 but I am not sure about German exports. Does anxbody know if export lists, maybe even with serial number blocks, exist? thanks Uwe |

You're going to want a better documented response, but I was looking at a similar question some years ago and came to the conclusion that a III, IIIa or IIIb would be OK but a IIIc would have been fairly uncommon, even though based on pure production dates I would have thought it was a common camera in the US.
