Default Unknown part

Hello,
have found a small ring, marked 13077P.
Any idea what the purpose is?

Formerly known as SOOEY...an adapter to mount the filters for 5 cm Summitar on standard 42 mm threaded lenses.

I suppose if one counts, illustrates and explains ALL the old Leitz small accessories that can be generally described as "RING" , a respectable pocket book would result...

Just to clarify Luigi's response - the SOOEY (13077) adapter will allow mounting of Summitar filters on lenses with 39mm filter thread. Many reference books confuse 39mm (filter thread) with 42mm (push-on diameter) - the Hove Accessory Guide being one of them.

And yes - Leitz used to make adapters to adapt practically anything to anything. Maybe that is why I can use 1936 vintage Leica lenses on my M8! ...... Strangely enough, a 1936 1.9/73mm Hektor's focus is dead on, even with an adapter. The same cannot be said of my 1990's vintage 2/90mm pre-Asph Summicron. ......

Best,

Jan

Good said, Jan.. my "quote" of 42 mm was someway misleading.
