ironringer Posted June 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Could users of the tiny, orange, slip-on OKARO contrast filter (for the rangefinder of many screwmount cameras such as the IIIf) please advise - is it useful, and in what conditions? I just paid a high price for one of these unusual little accessories, and while waiting for it, would appreciate user feedback. luigi bertolotti Posted June 12, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 12, 2014 When CLEAN (many used OKARO are at risk of hazyness) it is rather useful expecially in low light/low contrast scenes (interiors), while, as natural, can be annoying in sceneries with strong direct light (as always, one more piece of glass can have collateral effects). I doubt that chinese 3rd parties have "cloned" it... it's just for SM bodies which, honestly, haven't anymore such a large users base... Finally... farnz Posted June 13, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 13, 2014 It's most useful when your rangefinder gets a little dull with age. I found that the extra contrast in my IIIf's viewfinder made all the difference between focussing correctly and not.
