sabears Posted April 15, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 15, 2014 Does anyone know if they offer, in the case, 100 years of deferred payment ? Best auction to all and happy Easter!
luigi bertolotti Posted April 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2014 Does anyone know if they offer, in the case, 100 years of deferred payment ? Best auction to all and happy Easter! 100 years of deferred payment imho is difficult to have, for obvious reasons : our descendants - 3rd or 4th generation - could invoke mental insanity for their ancestor , contest his written will, and refuse to pay... one had to establish an offshore trusted fund in favor of Leica Co. for the net amount of due... a complex operation... On the contrary, I should find that, given that a Leica MP is still produced TODAY, it could be reasonable they give a 100 year warranty for the MP offered at a baseprice of 140.000 Euros (lot 60) ... or, AT LEAST, a 100 year warranty IF it reaches or exceeds the top estimate (300.000 Euros)

zeitz Posted April 16, 2014 Share #6 Posted April 16, 2014 The Sabre gun stock is there too. I just don't understand who would pay that much for a non-Leica, general purpose item. The description is wrong. I wrote to Peter with the information I posted previously. We'll see if the description changes.

semi-ambivalent Posted May 22, 2014 Share #14 Posted May 22, 2014 On the contrary, I should find that, given that a Leica MP is still produced TODAY, it could be reasonable they give a 100 year warranty for the MP offered at a baseprice of 140.000 Euros (lot 60) ... or, AT LEAST, a 100 year warranty IF it reaches or exceeds the top estimate (300.000 Euros) My MP ALC came with a 5 year warrantee, and I believe I've seen print committing Leica to offering parts for at least 30 years. What's another 70 years to a lifeless bit of steel in a cellophane envelope? What Leica should do is find a way to "seed" future repair people. When I was a little kid my grandfather used to buy me toasters and sewing machines and such from the Salvation Army store so I could take them apart and learn how they worked. (As an adult with this knowledge I have saved my family thousands in home repairs, actually proving myself to be useful for something.) s-a

dkCambridgeshire Posted May 25, 2014 Share #19 Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) We bought lot no 19, it was 8400 euros, including buyer premium and also bought the special edition catalogue no 84. Is that your birth year Lot No. 19 sold for a bargain price so could be a good investment. dunk Edited May 25, 2014 by dkpeterborough
