I just acquired an SL2 and a 60 Macro-Elmarit (all 3 cams). I am trying to find out which 1:1 adapter I would need for the 60mm? Could someone please provide guidance.

Thank you in advance

David

14256 is the latest version, replaces the 14198 adaptor.

14256 will not fit on the SL2 without modification, and even after modification will not meter at full aperture. Of the original-equipment options, 14198 is best with this lens and SL or SL2. Another option (which I prefer) is a 14198 modified to fit nearly any R lens, not just the 60 Macro.

Thank you both.

Doug - I read about the mod on your web site. Didn't want to bug you again as you have been so helpful. So does the 14198 allow metering at full aperture on the SL2? Also unless I read it incorrectly was it the 14256 that you modified using the rear mount of the 14198?

Thanks

David

PS I was planning to stick with just one lens for the SL2:rolleyes:

Yes.

To use the 14256 on a Leicaflex you'd put the rear mount from the 14198 on the 14256. No full-aperture metering on the SL2.

My preferred extension tube is a modified 3-cam 14198. It works on all Leica reflex bodies with full-aperture metering on all except the Leicaflex Standard. I've removed the shroud that would have covered the 60 Macro's aperture ring and modified the 14198's front flange to use R-only lenses as well as Leicaflex lenses. The only disadvantage of this modified 14198 is that you have to remember to set the lens to its minimum aperture (i.e., f/22) and use the aperture ring on the extension tube instead.

PS I was planning to stick with just one lens for the SL2:rolleyes:

If you can stick to this plan any un-modified 14198 will work fine and cost the least.
