At some time around 1936, Leitz offered a deerskin purse for the RASAL folding frame viewfinder. This lovely object was coded RWBOO and is quite rare. The only Leitz identification is a printed logo - a little fainted and difficult to see on our photos - stamped on the inner part of the cover.

And, as you will have discovered, I forgot (once again) to mention that at one time, I used my RWBOO to protect a SOOPD folding frame viewfinder displaying the same size as the RASAL.

Clearly, in the 30s, deerskin was considered someway fashionable, at Leitz... I never saw that nice RWBOO, but have this deerskin ETTOX for a Hektor 7,3 cm of that age..

Very nice indeed. Your Leitz logo's print mark is identical to mine, but much clearer.

I have one of this purse stamped "Fabriqué en Allemagne" (made in Germany)

here with black RASUK and genuine red box.

RASUK 5cm 9 cm reversing 3.5cm 7.3cm frames sporting viewfinder

RAMET add on blade with 10.5cm and 13.5 cm frames when reversed

RASUK + RAMET = RASAL
