Excellent creation. The light,tones and texture of this path takes to into the clouds, to infinity.

Nice angle and I like the curve at the top end.
Have you tried introducing a little more contrast into the path ?

Thanks for all your comments - much appreciated. Out of interest I'm posting the original file prior to any adjustments, although I did envisage the image in Black & White when I took it. The M8 files appear very resilient for fairly substantial adjustments. I'm using PS CS4 by the way. I added substantial vignetting to emphasise the pathway and just a little recovery (just a very little was overexposed in the top centre sky as I was very careful to examine the histogram when shooting).

I like this one so much that I came back a 3d time!
In the meantime I recommended a look at it to a friend who has a reputation for his fine BW printing. He was enthusiastic about the handling of path & clouds. But he thought the vignetting was overbearing, in the sense of calling too much attention to itself. You might consider this as a constructive criticism when you make the fine-art print that the image obviously deserves! Kirk |
