Paul -
The combination of composition consisting over horizontal and vertical linearity, the detail and the drab overall color with splashes of bright color make this most appealing. |

Paul, very nice and as usual I agree with Stuart. As I was scrolling down I realized a better framing would have been to include the entire flag on top and crop out the street. What do you think?

Stuart, Thanks for your comments.
Virgil, Thanks for your comments. Originally the whole flag was in the picture but unfortunately when I corrected for vertical distortion, it cropped off the top of the flag. I think I will have to try to keep this in mind when I photograph buildings in the future. Paul

Nicely processed - I like the way the stop lights appear to 'float' into the picture from either side. The building behind the main subject is incredibly bland in terms of architecture. Do you know what it is? LouisB

Louis, Thanks for your comments. The bland architecture is typically midwestern. It was a gloomy day and I chose to leave the tones as they were.
Albert, Thanks. I really wish that I could have included the whole flag. Perhaps I might look this over again, but I felt it was more important at the time to have the lines parallel. Paul

Instead of "fill the frame" I think the new mantra must be "leave a margin". I'm surprised by how much of an image can be lost by even a 2 degree correction. Can you shoot this again? Worth the effort, I think. |

Willy, I couldn't agree with you more. I am amazed what can be lost with vertical correction. Your suggestion about shooting this scene again is not only valid but also, a great learning exercise. I certainly will try it again. Thanks. Paul
