These are great shots. What'd you take 'em with & what are they of, exactly? Fine work!

Hi Storybrown ( couldn't find your name...my apologies ),

Thanks for stopping by. This is a minute image of the 'new mosque' in Istanbul built around
1597. M8, 'cron 28 asph at f2.8 and ss 1/25 handheld. The inscriptions are in the Arabic Script and bear the names of the two of the four Muslim Caliphs who followed Prophet Mohammed ( PBUH ) in Madinah. Specifically the names of the third Caliph ..Usman and the fourth Caliph, Ali. Throughout the mosque ones finds the intricate and beautiful calligraphy which has been used to inscribe Koranic verses.

The first image is a genera shot showing the and the intricate mosaic design and craftsmanship on the stained
glass that was the hallmark of the artisans of the Ottaman period.

Regards.

Thank you for showing, very rich in detail and colour. These are settings which shouldn't be taken by mobile phones...

Istanbul is certainly one of the cities one should try to see.

Saloti, I am grateful for your comments. Indeed Istabul is a place one should visit. It needs
to be experienced to appreciate why so many fall in love with it.

Best.
