R8/DMR/28mm (two shots, stitched)
A Northumbrian beach. Some of the best beaches in Britain are up there in the North East, and hardly anyone (relatively speaking) ever goes there.

Well... that's the North Sea. Next stop Norway. It is very cold there - the North wind comes straight off the Arctic (so it will be tropical in 20 years time...).
The East wind comes from Siberia. And this was taken in September, so the holiday season was over, apart from for sad old gits like me.

Cheers, Stuart.
That's not flotsom, by the way, that's some sort of volcanic rock that's been there since the ice age ![]()

Like the crescent shape of the beach and the sweep you caught here. Would like more foreground personally. Time for a 21?
O.K., I know you like panoramas. Just not my thing... Nice catch though.

When funds permit (sometime around 2010...), I will source a 19. Until then I will be content to use the tools I have in my bag. The foreground is just more of the grass and I think that the composition would have been compromised somewhat. I like my panoramas to have horizons close to the middle of the frame. I just wish that we had better skies over here, when I am out and about as opposed to when I am in the office...

Now this I do like- the area as well as the photo(s).
Am I not correct in thinking that a shorter lens would give a very different perspective from 2x 28's stitched? With 19mm, the distant objects would be....erm, very, very distant. This stitching looks a very interesting technique, must have a go at it sometime. Cheers, Pete. |

Don't forget that with a DMR or M8, you only record the centre portion of the image created when compared to a film version (the M8 doesn't need a new screen to see the crop area, of course.)
When cropped, the result from a 19 would be similar to this. I won't know until I try ![]()
