Default Long abandoned church

Leica M3 & 50mm F2.8 - Fujichrome Sensia with adjustments in Lightroom
Scotland - Balnakeil near Durness

This is in the far North West of Scotland and while I was taking this picture I could hear the sound of an RAF Tornado firing its gun at one of the small offshore islands.

I usually like to focus attention on just one object in the foreground so this seems a bit cluttered to me. As I was using a 50mm lens and wanted to get the whole of the church in I couldn't move in closer to isolate one if the monuments. On the original, if I zoom in, I can read the words on the monument in the centre.

I'd like to see this in B&W.

Some pretty fancy memorials for such a remote place. What is the story?

Yes, I think that I'd also like to see this in monochrome.

Good to hear that the RAF is taking the task of keeping the 'rebellious Scots' under control as seriously as is required by the National Anthem...

Thanks for your comments. I'll see if I can find out more info about the church and I'll do a B&W conversion in Lightroom and post it if it turns out OK.

Howard -

Very nice. While you're playing around with the B&W version, please see what it would look like with more color contrast and saturation.

I actually desaturated it a bit in Lightroom but I'd be happy to post the original along with a B&W rendering. I'm searching for more info on the church at the moment .
