Subtle, excellent. I think what makes it work is the juxtaposition of the amorphous sky with the linearity of the earth and sea.

Beautiful captured and well executed ... nice tonal range ! It would be nice to let us know how and with what equipment you shot it .

Sorry for the omission of technical details. M8, Summicron 90AA.
It has had rather extensive post-processing for the colour contrasts. I manipulated the colour in LAB mode. Even though I used 32 bits, it still lost some detail in the cloud.
