Which ISO? (Sorry I am on the apple crap) Sensor doesnt really seem to like the contrast dealt up by the ASPH in that light.
I guess these guys use the whole carcass. In our northern waters with the poachers, it is straight back over the side with the body still kicking while the fins go straight to the arsehole asian market. |

First and third seem washed out. Shooting manual or automatic? Its an effect I see quite a bit with my stuff out of SE Asia. Also, while the top end highlights all the images are at their limits, there is very little definition in the dark areas. I have the same lens, coded 35ASPH and I find it a bit of a trial in harsh contrasty light. It seems, or I seem to be able to handle an even lit scene, even blinding light noon day, but working round shadows is a bit of a no no. Ive only been shooting 100 iso film when using colour, for the past year, and I am just not sure about the M8 in my lighting environments. If I forked for the m8 I think I would be out buying Summicrons or Elmarits. Anyway, for the moment I will hang in with the film thing. Which can still be a struggle with the ASPH Summilux.
Interesting place you travelled to though. We get to see a lot more of it i hope? |

Eckart,
I think I like #2 & #4 best for their well balanced "Ausschnitt". Btw: after having read Rob's comment, I'll follow him in the (slight) effect of washing out. I noticed this effect in some of my photo's as well and never thought to look at the typical atmospheric conditions of that area. And I see they cut off the fins ... probably on their way to some market. Good to see that at least they are doing something purposefull with the body part of the shark. Marco |

Thanks Marco
![]() The "washing out "syndrome, is that I didn't raise the contrast the same way as on the others. I saw the pictures now on a good screen and I saw the difference.(This is not my computer I am on here, so I cannot change it now) BTW, do you have now more time again for the forum? I go on Monday for two weeks to London, but to work, unfortunately ![]() Cheers, Eckart Last edited by eckart : 05/16/08 at 02:50 PM. |

Eckart,
Getting more time, but head is still spinning towards job-stuff. But took some interesting shots in France, so will have to find some time to enhance/develop. Marco |
