On the train to Machu Picchu, as we start to head out of Cusco. Due to the mountains, it takes up to an hour for the train to pull out of the city as it zigzags its way up out of the valley.
Leica D-Lux 3, a shot through the window. The ambience was heightened by the foggy morning. -s |

Santiago -
We were fortunate enough to only take the train from The Sacred Valley to Machu Pichu. But the trip back to Cuzco on that train was terribly long, and we wished they still had helicopter service. |

Santiago,
Unfortunately with my arthritic knees and feet, my days backpacking up the 2000' to Machu Picchu or along the Inca trail are behind me. The "Hiram Bingham" and Machu Picchu were the highlights of our trip to Peru. |

Thanks for the comments!
I mentioned that I do tweaks for some of my photos in Lightroom, and so here is the version of the above with saturation levels turned down (and playing around with the "aged photo" preset). Thanks for looking, Santiago |
