Default Bruges Canal

An artificial creation but pretty none the less.

Graeme -

I know that restaurant well, as do several other forum members. This is an angle I've never seen shot before and I like it. Very nice composition and geometry. I'd consider punching it up just a bit with a slight increase in darks and lights, which would also cause a slight increase in the intensity of the colors .

Thanks Stuart - The original DNG is quite intense in contrast with the low sun on the white resturant and bridge beyond largely in shadow. The jpeg has quite a bit of manipulation to get some detail revealed so, you are right, it's a bit of a compromise.

The view is taken opposite the entrance to De Orangerie - the best hotel in Bruges (according to our taxi driver!)

Regards

Graeme
