Keith,

That's one awesome capture IMHO.
Lovely soft light and colours with a very pleasing composition. Well done.

Great colour and very well isolated subject. I like the way a band of grass has been sharply focussed along with the bench.

Good angle, you must have been on your knees for this one. Which lens, out of interest?

Thanks very much Louis. Fortunately there was a bank in the foreground so I was able to take the shot from below without relying on my increasingly ageing knees. The lens was the 75mm Summicron APO which I have a very high regard for.

best wishes

I like the melancholy somehow reflected in the picture. Nice framing btw!

Keith -

Around the same time as the apples photo? Excellent in every way.

Yes Stuart it was the same location as the Apples - Château pres d'Ecoublay at Fontenay Tresigny about 50 km East of Paris.

Keith, the first one is moody and atmospheric. When I first started out in photography a few decades ago I thought sunshine was essential to a good photograph. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

The only thing I'd have done differently would have been to move a little to the right to separate that tree in the background from the bench. Thanks for sharing the photograph.

Like the selective focus, lighting, and the fog.
Also the simplicity.
