Graham -

Excellent composition, depth, detail, contrast and tonal range in both. The 1st is strong enough that the modern boat in a less-than-modern setting works well. I am curious, though, to see #2 without the toning.

I used colour balance in photoshop. Yellow toned the midtones and red toned the shadows.

Nice shots, I think I prefer the toned one. Love the tones and composition. It is a busy photograph but yet still peaceful.
