Monfortinho is a small village (less than 600 inhabitants) situated on a mountain at the Spanish border. It is quite old, and had a significant social importance before being destroyed by the Spanish in 1640 during the so-called "Restoration War". Today, it is a quiet touristic destination, and acquired some fame for its thermal baths.
