It took three years to get 90 000 views on Flickr...

Perhaps a little surprising but not a mind-blowing shock is it? This is a tremendously appealing image and you have placed it in several flickr groups.

Your work, as displayed on flickr, is of a very high quality.....I really enjoyed the beagle racing shots!

What seemed to make all the difference was that it was chosen to be on Flickr Explore (which I'm not really sure how it works). Even so, I have had other images chosen for this but never with such a result.

Many thanks for your positive comments about my work. I like the beagle racing shots too - they always make me smile.

Views for any photo on Flickr can be totally random. I've seen the best photos get no interest, and other less good photos get plenty of views and comments. A bit like some of the photos on here really ;)

There is an article by Thomas Hawk on how to get more image views on Flickr, as it seems just taking a good shot doesn't cut it.

That said, this is a nice shot.

I agree. It's a bit of a mystery why some pictures get the views they do, although the article you recommend explains some of it. Thanks for the link. On Flickr I'm more interested in the comments rather than the number of views.

Yes a delightful landscape with spectacular light, but as much as I look at it the horizon feels like it's crooked even if it isn't actually crooked?

I see what you mean. I hadn't noticed that before. I think it's the curve of the left hand side of the loch which gives this effect.

I thought that too but came to the conclusion that it is the shadow lines in the water creating an optical illusion of sorts....maybe?
