Default First velvia urban landscape shots

Didn't quite know whether to put these in architecture or landscape.... chose this section in the end.

My first roll of velvia 50 shot through my M6TTL using my Elmarit 21/2.8

Early morning, just after sunrise in Wentworth Street (otherwise known as Pettycoat Lane).

Later in the day, around 4PM looking towards the new building which has dominated the skyline north and east, at Broadgate.

My, my, Louis - you were up and about very early!
I like #3 with the prancing horse echoing the angle of the cranes.
In #1 and #2, I like the view (especially the sense of desolation in the deserted street), but IMHO I find the colours a bit lurid, particularly #2, but that's just my thought.

Brian,

Thanks for the comments. Looking at it in the cold light of day, I think you're right. I was probably amazed at the contrasty and colourful way that Velvia appears to render what it sees. Fortunately, I walk that way most mornings so I will have another go.

Louis

I bet the scans of these don't do them justice. I bet the second in particular looks much better in the original slide. I like the composition and gritty urban feel of that one.

Big -

Fabulous light, color and scripsness to them all. The composition of #2 makes it my favorite.

A very useful aspect of the forum is getting advice and constructive criticism. Thanks, guys. I re-scanned and reprocessed the pictures and I hope they are improved.
