allamande Posted September 7, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2014 Henry, You really are the master of Portra! This is at once a painting and one of the best examples of what you can do with this film. Bravo! Ece
Doc Henry Posted September 7, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted September 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ece , yes I am Mr. Portra This is the film that gives the best color (as picture above) which is closest to reality (the color of sea is emerald green), what we see, if possible without correction processing software . That's what I call "high fidelity of color" for the picture as the "high fidelity of sound" with tube amplifiers ! Thanks Ece for looking and commenting. I am glad you like it Regards Henry

Michael Geschlecht Posted September 8, 2014 Share #10 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Hello Henry, Nice photo. How are the oysters? What you are saying about Portra is what made Kodachrome so nice. After you released the shutter the finished photo was right there in your camera. Best Regards, Michael Edited September 8, 2014 by Michael Geschlecht

Norman oysters are excellent For the film, Kodak Portra is currently one of the best films in color. This is a more faithful color than digital. Doc Henry Posted September 9, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted September 9, 2014 Seeing these wonderful photo taken with film makes me a little sad that I no longer have a film camera. Excellent Henry the color of the sea is breath taking.Hank Thank you Hank . I traveled a lot and the color of the sea varies from place to place. In South East Asia, is a "true blue" reflecting the blue sky (when it is fine) In France, the Atlantic Ocean is also blue but lighter the Channel (where I took this picture) is "emerald green" Regards Henry
