Beautiful fall day in the rockies I shot this with Kodachrome 64 and my M2 and a 35mm. Here's the original in color and also a copy in B/w

Hank,

a well framed drama of clouds and lines. The B&W is unfolding its fascination by the black dominating strip. The color version will probably be more balanced if you try to reduce the blue in the clouds. The blue is often caused with this sort of light and can be treated with a partial photoshop WB tool. The color version then will be as fascinating as the B&W version. But this is only my opinion and it is up to you to try it out. It is always interesting to have these juxtapositions here and nice to have some issue for discussion.

Iduna thanks for taking your time to look over my picture I think your point is well taken and therefore I have made a slight change to the intensity of the blue sky, lets see what reaction we get:)

Hank,

many thanks for your kind response and your effort to work on the "blue".

Yes, it is better now. But the glow of the yellow of the trees and the grass seem to have lost some of their crispness. Therefore the yellow slider plus a bit of soft or harder light can be added. But I don't know about your workflow, These things are sometimes tricky applying layerwork and work with masks in pp. I like those dramatic weather scenes and now is the time when they appear very early this year.

Thanks again with your persistence we will make this a better picture;)

Wonderful photo Hank.

To me there are many different elements of this photo to look at, that's why I like it.

It keeps my eye busy.

I like the less processed color image best.

Thank you for your comments I too kind of enjoy the softer less processed color .

Fabulous - I prefer the colour. In B/W, for the the black of the road becomes too dominant, whereas in colour the eye is drawn to the colour by the black

Good point it seems most will agree for choosing the color. What I find fascinating is when you review a picture , there is always something you had not notice before. In this case, I just noticed out of the darkness a pair of headlights coming towards me.

Thanks

Hank
