ns_ng Posted August 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) On the way to Sussusvlei, I saw this desert fog just above the ground. I got out of my vehicle and watched the sun slowly moving up from behind the hill. Fascinating sight and colours. A850 w/35-70 R. Welcome, dear visitor! stickan1 Posted August 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2014 Nice series. No 2 is my favourite as you see less of the road and the fences. I think it would be great in BW also!

ns_ng Posted August 21, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted August 21, 2014 absolutely gorgeous! the mist are providing humidity for a few very rare species od animals and plants to survive. This is a dreamy show! Years ago when I was working in the desert in Oman, mist or ground fog was quite common early in the morning in the cooler months. But by late morning it would disappear due to the heat. The oldest plant in the world, Welwitschia mirabilis, which I saw near the Skeleton Coast, depends on the moisture in the air to survive. Iduna Posted August 23, 2014 Share #11 Posted August 23, 2014 yes, the "Welwitschia", if I remember correctly they become very old, wil say centuries and a very odd sight indeed.
ns_ng Posted August 24, 2014 Author Share #12 Posted August 24, 2014 yes, the "Welwitschia", if I remember correctly they become very old, wil say centuries and a very odd sight indeed. Here is an image of the Welwitschia, Zenfolio | N.S. Ng | Namibia | Welwitschia mirabilis According to the guide some of the plants are nearly 2000 years old! Fascinating.
