It was a real pleasure hiking MaPi with not much weight on my shoulders. The quality of the files is superb. I had a 21 Lux attached to one and a 90 Cron to the other one. I love the 21 Lux so much I could have glued it to the camera. I have a brief description on each image that hopefully will explain what they are. I hope you like them. sanyasi Posted April 17, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 17, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) You totally nailed it. Generally you see the standard grand shot of the monument/mountain. You have a lot of different and more interesting perspectives. Certainly it is nice to be shooting with the M240s, but I strongly suspect you would have gotten equivalent images with another brand of camera. Thanks
hossain Posted April 17, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 17, 2014 Beautiful photos. Thank you so much for sharing. I notice in your Facebook profile photo, the Leica M camera is wrapped up in some sort of plastic covering. Is that to protect the camera from rain? I am planning a trip to South America next year looking for one of those plastic coverings to keep my Leica M dry. I was wondering if you would be able to recommend any such product? Hotel shower caps work great. Also the OP/Tech rain sleeve, DSLR ones work also fine, but a little big for M's, however they have a closure at one end and they last longer than shower caps. They are cheap at like $5. for 2.
davidcolemandc Posted April 17, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted April 17, 2014 Beautiful photos. Thank you so much for sharing. I am planning a trip to South America next year looking for one of those plastic coverings to keep my Leica M dry. I was wondering if you would be able to recommend any such product? Thank you! The plastic rain cover that I used is a hotel shower cap. Hotel shower caps are awesome and they are free! I was able to completely cover the body with a 90mm Cron. And at the end of the day you dispose of the plastic cover and get another one at the hotel for next day. David
dmclalla Posted April 18, 2014 Share #12 Posted April 18, 2014 Hi David, congratulations, beautiful pictures. Why a plastic cover for your M? supposed to be a weather sealed camera, just an additional precaution or a decision based on some past bad experience?
Exodies Posted April 18, 2014 Share #13 Posted April 18, 2014 Only the camera body is weather sealed. Accessories like mfg, lenses, evf, etc are not.

Thank you dmclalla. Exodies is correct. Only the camera body has rubber seals to protect against dust and water spray. The plastic cover is to protect the lens and accessories. Likaleica Posted April 19, 2014 Share #17 Posted April 19, 2014 Well, I guess I don't need to go to Machu Picchu now! I feel like I've already been there, less the high from the altitude and coca leaves. Great photos.

ho_co Posted April 19, 2014 Share #20 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) David-- Thoroughly delightful! When I visited, I had real problems breathing. From looking at your pictures, it's clear that you didn't. I certainly wouldn't have been able to do the hike. How did you get so many images without people in them? Was it the time of day of your visit? How long did you spend there? A really stellar job. Thanks for the posting!
