pauledell Posted June 7, 2013 Share #3 Posted June 7, 2013 Hank, A stunning picture in the magic morning light that sets the cool mood and atmosphere on the placid water. It can't be any better than that. Paul

stuny Posted June 7, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 7, 2013 Hank - Beautiful. I suspect it would be even stronger with two inches cropped from the right to move the subject further off center.

Hank Taylor Posted June 7, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted June 7, 2013 After making the suggested changes I found another picture that had a little better balance with a fishing boat on the left side in the background . Hope you will like this one . Hank Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted June 8, 2013 Share #10 Posted June 8, 2013 After making the suggested changes I found another picture that had a little better balance with a fishing boat on the left side in the background .Hope you will like this one . Hank Hank, This has the best balance of the three versions, but I like the original version better than the second one. By cropping, the fishing boat in the right background is lost and I feel that it is an important element to the picture. Paul

dickgrafixstop Posted June 8, 2013 Share #14 Posted June 8, 2013 Hank I like the first one. The symmetry of the fishing boats on a nearly invisible horizon accenuates the crystal clear water and sky. Boats on both sides of the fishing shack add interest - but then it is a picture of the blue water reflecting the blue sky and the rest is just extra. Go with your gut.

First of all thanks Dick for your encouragement . You elegantly reassured my confidence.
kaethe Posted June 9, 2013 Share #16 Posted June 9, 2013 Exquisite light and capture. I like the first one, with space to anchor the peacefulness of the image. If you feel a need to crop, here is my 2 cents, the window and door of the building is on the right so your eye naturally moves to the right when you look at the image. When it is cropped, with the building to the right, your eye bumps into the frame too soon, which creates an unsettled feeling. As I said, my 2 cents. Thanks for reading, I like the original as posted. kaethe
