Hi Bill - this is such a fantstic portrait. I especially love how the pastel green tones on the bottom melt into pastel blue tones in the background. Really nice. May I ask if this was shot with film and if so which kind?

Thanks, Bill. I absolutely love the colors in the picture. It is so pleasing and lovely to stare at. If my young daughter ever enters a pony phase I may have to look you up for this ;)

Bill,

Lovely shot! Sage is what we (over here) refer to as a 'flea bitten' grey....

no insult intended.

There is also an old saying around here that goes: 'if you have a good grey

horse you'll never have a better horse'. I must say I agree with that one as

all the greys I've known have been quite special, tough, loyal, intelligent and

affectionate. I bet Sage has all those qualities and more.

Dee.

Thanks Dee,

We use the same term here also. Salt & pepper is another term. I've had him since he was a colt. He does have all the qualities you mentioned. I gentled (broke) him for riding myself. I could tell he was going to be an easy horse to work with. He is by far the most fun horse I've ever had.

Thanks Paul,

Having one of our horses die last fall, I'm trying to take images of our last two horses so when they're gone I'll have images to add to the memories.

Bill,

I understand how you feel. You hold the same affection for your horses as we do for our dogs.

Paul
