Popular Post fotografr Posted May 29, 2013 Popular Post Share #1 Posted May 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) This turned out to be a friend of mine out with his very old dog, but I didn't realize it at the time I shot this due to the foggy conditions. I made a print for him because the dog won't be around much longer. It's 16 and very arthritic. Welcome, dear visitor! Bill Allsopp Posted May 29, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 29, 2013 It's a super picture and I am sure your friend will treasure it. Although small in the frame they are an important part of the picture as a whole.

The atmosphere and tones set the stage for this sad event. Paul I can't help but remark of how this picture tugged at my heart having lost two of our beloved dogs earlier this year, one from arthritis at the age of 12 and the other from a stroke at the age of 7. fotografr Posted May 30, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) I can't help but remark of how this picture tugged at my heart having lost two of our beloved dogs earlier this year, one from arthritis at the age of 12 and the other from a stroke at the age of 7. Paul The most difficult decisions in my life have involved ending the life of a dog or cat that had become part of our family. Even knowing from the beginning that their life spans are so much shorter than ours, when the time comes it is wrenching. Personally, I think it's on the same level as losing a family member. I did have to chuckle to myself later, because when I went to his house to drop off a print of this image he quickly thanked me and said, "I don't have time to talk now because the acupuncturist is here working on her." Northwest Wanderer Posted May 30, 2013 Share #16 Posted May 30, 2013 Brent, You may want to give a copy of this image to your local animal shelter. It's so powerful and emotional. It might help inspire someone to adopt a dog.
